Hostgator is a top-notch web hosting company, and you are at the verge of buying hosting, but thinking “Which plan I should select”? Is it?
In this hosting buying guide, I will share everything you need to know before selecting your hosting plan. Picking the right plan at this stage will help you save money, and headache of changing plan later. I will explain all the shared hosting plans offered by Hostgator, their differences & my recommendation at the end. I have been using Hostgator for last five years, and all the points are based on my experience with them. So without waiting, let’s look at all the 3 shared hosting plan offered by HostGator.
Hostgator shared hosting plans: Features & Differences
HostGator offers three shared hosting plan, and all plans are slightly different from each other. Apart from pricing factor, there are few features which set them completely apart. You should pick the plan, according to your requirement. Such as:
- How many sites do you need to host?
- How many domains do you have?
- What’s your future plan?
I will try to answer all these questions & help you make a decision of your own. So, first let’s have a look at all 3 shared hosting plans.
- Hatchling – For one website
- Baby – For multiple Website
- Business – For Business site
If you are looking for a quick recommendation, I would suggest gran Baby hosting plan. Or keep reading on to understand which plan and why. Here is a chart that shows the difference between all the three plans:
This is the basic plan that is good for hosting one website. Hatchling plan offers everything unlimited, and the only limitation is the number of websites you can host. If your requirement is just to host one site, this is the best plan for you. This is cheapest, and value for money. One more limitation of Hatchling plan is, it doesn’t let you buy dedicated I.P. On other hosting packages, you can grab dedicated I.P. for a nominal monthly fee.
Baby plan is most popular shared hosting plan on Hostgator and is highly recommended for everyone. On Baby plan, you are free to host unlimited websites. At the time of writing this, I’m on a three-year Baby plan with four websites hosted on it. I used 30% discount coupon, which helped me to grab this hosting package for maximum saving. You can buy a dedicated I.P for only $2/month. Having your dedicated I.P would ensure that you don’t have to worry about SEO or spam issues related to other sites hosted on your server. It’s not mandatory but suggested. Overall, Baby plan has everything you need in an unlimited web hosting.
Business plan has all the features of Hatchling & Baby plan. Additionally, it includes free dedicated I.P & private SSL. This is recommended for you when you plan to sell any digital good on your website. You will also get a Toll free number via Voipo. You can 100 free minutes, and you have the option to buy more minutes for the extra price. This plan is something I won’t recommend, as you can buy Baby plan & additionally buy dedicated I.P, which would be cheaper.
Here is the chart that shows features of all shared hosting plans:
Conclusion: Which Hostgator shared hosting package is best for you:
Here is my suggestion & you can pick the one according to your need:
- Hatchling plan: Suggested when you need to host one website only.
- Baby plan: (Recommended) When you need to host more than one website
- Business plan: When you need toll-free number & dedicated I.P
If you are planning to buy Hatchling package, I would recommend buy Baby plan. The price difference is nominal, and with below discount code you will save maximum.
