In my earlier guide on Which HostGator shared hosting plan is best for you, I outlined the feature of all the plans. Yesterday, Alex reached out to me with his query & he asked: Between Baby plan & Business plan of Hostgator, which is the best?
I believe this is one question that you might have if you are about to purchase your hosting. In this guide, I will share which one of these two plan is best for you, and why it is. By the end, you can figure out the right hosting package for your Website. So, let’s get on with this hosting buying guide:
HostGator Baby Plan or Business Plan?
Both the plans have all the unlimited features of HostGator. Here are the common features of both the hosting packages:
- Unlimited bandwidth
- Unlimited storage
- Unlimited email users
- Unlimited Sub-domins & FTP Account
- Free Website Builder
- $100 free Adwords credit
Apart from above noticeable feature, you will get everything that is required in a world-class hosting company.
What sets them apart is three features that are available only on Business package. Business package offers
- Dedicated I.P
- Free Private SSL
- Free Toll-free number
You need to decide if your website or online business requires Toll-free number or not. I won’t stress much on the Toll-free number, as I can get it from 3rd party site at a cheaper price. Dedicated I.P. can be purchased along with Baby plan at a cost of only $2/month. Do note, there is a price difference of $4/month between Baby & Business plan on Hostgator.
The deciding factor is the Toll-free number that you can get as it is. And when you are buying a dedicated I.P. for your hosting account, your SSL certificate becomes private than shared. How is how Hostgator Toll free number works:
There is no performance difference between any of the hosting package. The all are hosted on same server, and the difference is in the features only, which I have highlighted above. Here is an official comment from Hostgator Forum:
I’m keeping this comparison short, as there is not much to compare between these two hosting plans. If I had been at your place, I would buy Baby package and add a dedicated I.P. after paying only $24/year. Over all, Business plan is recommended only when you want a Toll free number at the same time. Most of the entrepreneurs suggest buying the Toll-free number from 3rd party site, as it helps them to manage it easily. Also, if you plan to move to dedicated hosting or any other hosting, you don’t have to worry about delinking your Toll-free number.
Do let me know which hosting package you decided to buy?
